“What…? back to the soul society ALREADY? but we just returned like only a day ago…huh I wonder what is so important they would want to call us back.” Rukia said glancing at the ground, her hand cupping her chin in a thinking way, her arm under the other as she sighed glancing back at Renji after a few moments. “What about Ichigo..? or everyone else…? should we say SOMETHING because they’d freak if we just left without notice.”

“Ichigo? Ehhh… I don’t know. Look, it’s not like he’ll even notice if we’re not here and I don’t think it’d be a good idea to tell him what’s up just yet since we don’t even know ourselves. You can stay if you want. I just wanted you to know beforehand…” There were still issues of the shinigami upper echelon not trusting the substitute despite his proving himself. Renji didn’t think it was a good idea to stir the pot just yet.

Now Renji wasn’t the moody, pensive sort and he really didn’t like to dwell over things for too long. It just wasn’t good for your health for one thing and it just never did anyone any good anyway. So he was always quick to let nothing fester inside him and when she joined him – surprised as he were by it, he looked at his childhood friend turned noble now, with a deep piercing serious stare and said. “Yeah yeah forget that now. Listen, things could get real bad real soon around here. There’s talk among the higher ups that they want to recall us back to Soul Society for something but it’s still unclear what. Taichou might call soon and I wanted you to know. Be on alert.”

“But I-” He doesn’t even bother because he knows it’s useless to even try when she gets like this. “Fine. Go ahead and draw. I’ll just sit in that corner until you’re done because I wanted to talk to you about something and not bug you.” He adds disgruntled as he goes to sit in the said corner with his arms and legs crossed. “Bug Ichigo? Yeah right. I don’t bug people.” He mutters under his breath.
