He raises his tattooed eyebrow at her. “Lieutenant huh? You must be new. I haven’t seen you around here before.” Then again when was the last time he came around the seventh? Ages, even if it was right next door, literally. He folds his arms and nods trying to look intimidating and wondering if he’s doing a great job. “Good to meet you Tsurugi Ryouba. I’m Abarai Renji, in case you haven’t already heard.” Who hasn’t heard about him yet? Come on.

         SOON she stiffed up. The intimidating look the red-headed was giving to her made its effect, putting the girl into a situation. Did not take longer for her face to gain a more hard expression to match his. Albeit, it was not on purpose. 

       ‘   yes. I’m the newest lieutenant in the Gotei 13.
                           My pleasure as well, Abarai-senpai.  ‘

        Despite calling a fellow lieutenant ‘ senpai ‘, it was a hard to die habit of hers, after all, he did have much more experience in the rank than her. Above all, she failed at  << give the right impression >> as always with this tensed up facade.

Okay. Maybe his intimidating look worked too well. He made a mental to use it more often on his subordinates. It wasn’t too good an idea on a fellow lieutenant though and a new one at that. He sticks his hand out in a welcoming gesture. Senpai huh? That had a very nice ring to it. He had to admit, he liked it. 

“Welcome to your lieutenancy, Tsurugi. It’s going to be hard but you have a good guy as your captain so that’ll make things easier at least.” Iba a captain. That was taking some getting used to but Renji couldn’t be any prouder of his former fellow lieutenant. Then again Rukia was a captain too. So many changes after the war. They lost too many. It was like their past lives were nothing but a distant memory. “Did you know Komamura-taichou?” The words just came out before he could stop himself.
